Coogee Bay Hotel Sponsorships

Community Sponsorships

Coogee Bay Hotel is involved with a number of Community Sponsorships.

As a partner in the local community, our aim is to support groups that promote health and quality of life through their organisations.

See some of the ways Coogee Bay Hotel is assisting the community through Sponsorship below.

Sydney Children's Hospital

Sydney Children's Hospital

Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation via Coogee Bay Charity Golf Day

The Coogee Bay Hotel is an exceedingly proud sponsor and supporter the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation via the annual Coogee Bay Hotel Charity Golf Day.

In 2009, we again exceeded the goal set with the hospital of $100,000.00 raised in sponsorships, raffles and auctions.

Since the Golf Day's inception 12 years ago, we have achieved over $1.3 Million dollars in funds that help the Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick buy much needed equipment and conduct medical research.

A brigade of local celebrities and sports personalities lend a "golfing hand"each year by participating with corporate sponsors and partners to raise funds for the foundation.

Coogee Surf Life Saving

Coogee Surf Life Saving Club

Coogee Bay Hotel is proud to be associated with, and has been a major sponsor of, the Coogee SLSC for a number of years.

The Hotel provides much needed dollars in a bid to improve facilities and provide education such as First Aid, Resuscitation, Surf Skills, Beach Patrol and Awareness and Leadership to their new and existing members to save lives. As such, the Coogee Bay Hotel has played an enormous role in providing not only the Coogee area, but also the City of Randwick with one of the safest, best equipped and best patrolled beaches available to the local community.

The Club has over 400 active loyal members who are committed to a strict fitness regime, maintaining education and performing regular beach patrols to save lives within the community including a high percentage of international travellers, which some have not experienced a beach lifestyle. Our commitment also includes providing swimwear, wetsuits, sun protection gear and new equipment. The partnership between the Coogee Bay Hotel and Coogee Surf Life Saving Club is one which truly benefits the residents of the City of Randwick in a direct and measurable way.

Randwick Offshore Boat

Randwick District Offshore Rescue Boat - Offshore 3

The Randwick District Offshore Rescue Boat is based at Malabar, patrolling the area from Botany Bay to Port Jackson and crewed by thirty highly skilled and dedicated volunteer staff from the Randwick District (Maroubra Beach through to Clovelly Beach) and Waverley District (Bronte Beach through to Bondi Beach).

The Randwick District Offshore Rescue Boat has come a long way since its introduction, becoming known as one of the most proficient and effective rescue services within Surf Life saving, being highly regarded amongst other kindred services such as Police, Fire and Ambulance Rescue.

The craft is primarily a rescue craft and carries first aid equipment such as air bag resuscitation equipment, stokes litter stretcher and search and rescue diving equipment, being on 24-hour call. The Coogee Bay Hotel is honoured to have the opportunity to sponsor Offshore 3.

This allows us an opportunity in protecting the local community and the reputation of Coogee and other local beaches as being safe swimming areas.

Rebels Cricket Club Coogee

Coogee Rebels Cricket Club

The Coogee Bay Hotel Rebels have been participating in the MPSECA (Moore Park & South East) cricket competition since its inaugural year in 1994.

Initially fielding one team, and with the assistance of the Coogee Bay Hotel, the Coogee Rebels have grown to one of the largest clubs in the competition, fielding 4 teams in 2007. Most games are played on the Moore Park fields with occasional games in Maroubra and Botany.

The sponsorship helps in providing all equipment and registration fees as well as subsidising the many social events we have during the year, including the famous "Night of Nights" presentation dinner at the end of the season, and the "singlet and thongs" day held on Australia day.

Coogee Rebels currently have over 60 registered players, coming from as far as Willoughby in the North, Narwee in the south, and Leichhardt in the west, all to play for the mighty Rebels!

Coogee United Football Club

Coogee United Football Club

Coogee United Football Club was formed in 2003 by a merger of members of the Charing Cross Soccer Clubs and Guitar Crazy Soccer Club. Members of both the Charing Cross and Guitar Crazy Soccer Clubs were once one and the same when both played under the name of Coogee Legion Soccer Club.

Coogee United currently has 18 teams in total, consisting of 2 Premier League teams, 5 All Age Men Teams, 2 O/35 Men Teams, 2 All Age Women Teams and 7 Junior teams, which makes Coogee United one of the biggest clubs in the Eastern Suburbs Soccer Football Association.

Coogee Bay Hotel's spnsorship assists the club with uniforms, banners, team social events and the Annual Mr Coogee Competition held at Selina's night club in July.

Coogee Lions Club

Coogee Lions Club

Coogee Lions Club was established in May 2005. Coogee Bay Hotel agreed to unofficially support Coogee Lions Club through provision of work shirts, advertising and allowing the selling of Raffles in our bars and Brasserie.

Coogee Lions Club is well established with the Coogee precinct, raising in excess of $100K and providing in excess of 5000 hours of voluntary work in the community.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the Lions Club and local community, Coogee Bay Hotel and the Coogee Lions Club set up the Coogee Cares Inititative.

The Coogee Cares Inititative was set up to help those people in the community with building and other assistance who do not have the means to help themselves. In combining the resources of both Coogee Bay Hotel and Coogee Lions Club, and with assistance from the community, we are able to help those in need experience improved quality of life.

If you are aware of a special someone in need, let us know, and they could be the next one that Coogee Cares about.
